Art you can use

A drawn goose in flight, from the poster Honk if you love Canada. Each of reacts differently to the events of the last few months. We don’t know what exactly to do about it except keep informed. In Canada, it means boycotting the U.S. I create ways of expressing ideas, so I’m applying that small thing to this giant situation. Some of us aslo find that creating art can be a healing way to express yourself, create emotions and help grow the resistance. We use imagination, AI and graphic art skills to make images that stick.

Protest equipment

Protest Signs: it’s pretty affordable to print at a place like Staples on engineering paper – the cheapest stock. Cut a piece of corrugated cardboard or foam core to the same size. Attach with tape or bulldog clips. You’re good to go!

Handles: sign connoisseurs enjoy using handles for greater visibility and to enable holding a sign and a coffee at the same time. You could get a length of 1-inch pvc pipe from a hardware store for a light and reusable one. Maybe you’d punch two little holes at the top of the cardboard straddling the centre, about 2 inches apart and two inches from the top, then the same at the bottom centre. Now you could attach the handle to the sign with zip ties or string. Enjoy!
