"In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer."
– Albert Camus
It can be hard to remain calm when you see the rapid rise of fascism in the United States, especially when people around you seem not to understand or care. You’re not crazy, but you may be in need of ‘resistance therapy’. By taking some form of action you can soothe yourself a little, contribute something to the slowly growing opposition, find people who also see the truth, and strengthen yourself for whatever may come in future.
I don’t actually know what to do either. I’ve chosen to take on tasks that either I have skills for or would be interested in learning. So I’m helping in a local resistance group, creating protest artwork, assembling videos to catch people up on events, and producing learning materials that might help people recognize the fascism popping up around the world. I hope something you find here could help you in the work you take on, and that by sharing some of that you can find a bit of relief from the stress of not knowing what to do. We will be tested, but we’ll get through this together.
